WarriorsRewritten is a project between myself, Iycanroc and tori-oislove, that aims to to fill plot holes, fix inconsistencies, and apply proper feline genetics to the random sparklecats of the Warriors universe.
A final installment for the romance diversity discussion~
However, I will not reveal to you any headcanon in regards to the pairing that was known as Goldenflower and Tigerclaw, as we wish to keep certain things under wraps yet, and especially that which includes Tigerclaw. Let this be a teaser instead, hm? ;3
Anyway, we might as well discuss genetics. I know several have been wondering about Goldenflower's redesign, and here is my first attempt - it was, everything considered, among the hardest I've worked out yet.
There were several issues with Goldenflower's design, the first one being that a solid ginger queen only has solid ginger sons (would've proven bad for the "son looks like father"-analogy that was so prominent with Bramblebutt, eh?) and also being the daughter of a non-red tom means Goldenflower can only be a tortoiseshell herself.
However, to add some flair to the torties of which we are now getting quite a few (Willowpelt, Brindleface, Robinwing etc.) I decided she could be a light amber tortoiseshell, since amber features very often in her family tree, what with Lionheart and her nephews and such. If you now study her, you'll see that the amber colour covers those areas which would've otherwise been blue/grey. But as I've mentioned, amber works a lot like the red colour; it forces out tabby striping whether the cat is genetically agouti or not, and Goldie here, is a non-tabby, proven by her bluish nose~
Other than that, her eye colour remains the same, and she has the physique of a Norwegian Forest Cat in its unofficial shorthaired version, meaning that compared to the she-cats of her generation, Goldenflower is actually pretty buff. uvo
A special thanks to my darling cat Brutus, whose tendency to lay on his stomach and look adorable served as a good basis for the poses here hehe~
