Sooooo... yeah this is something else, hehe. ^^'
I've realized I will more or less be swamped with exam prepping from today onwards, meaning it's pretty unlikely I'll have time to get creative and upload loads of stuff (shoutout especially for my Purebreds, as they will be delayed as well) but... that kinda doesn't justify this now right?
But this isn't SquirrelxBramble?!! Nope, it isn't. You could say this here was born from a sense of, not quite annoyance - but yes, annoyance. xD Sometimes, when people discuss ships with me, and SquirrelxBramble comes up, there's one thing always recurring; "what alternative ship would be fitting for Brambleclaw." And when it comes to that point, I have only ONE opinion that I fear I haven't stressed enough in the past - if Bramble isn't paired with Squirrel, well shit then for all I care he could go die lonesome and sad in a ditch somewhere. Bottom line: I DON'T CARE. xD
As for the other way around it's a bit trickier. Because I have an alternative ship for Squirrel, namely Shrewpaw. And if he hadn't gone and died when he did I think I would've shipped them with all my heart - which I still do, in a funky way.
So after a very violent bout of annoyance, I set down to create this little ficlet series just as a way for myself to envision what COULD have happened because that is actually pretty fun. Yes, that means screwing with canon again (yaaaaay~) and that means I don't necessarily care what their canon personalities always are (in the few cases where there is a proper personality at all) so here we go. Keep in mind the fics are all very short, rarely more than a 1000 words because I really didn't have the time to write, like, half a book or something. xP
As for this first fic, there is a little messing with canon already; their ages. We're going to pretend Sandstorm was already preggers before they left SkyClan, because otherwise, if Squirrel and Shrew weren't kittens together, they couldn't have been apprentices together either (since kitten "age" and apprenticeship last 6 months both) which is really weird because in the second series, well they certainly were apprentices together.
