Kitty family tree -Firestar-

I have now also officially sidetracked from canon, bc as it is, I have not read anything further than the Last Hope, and WILL NOT read anymore. I keep up to date, and I've got a bunch of friends who readily tell me what crap the Erins have done next, but that's it. That's enough for me. ^^

Kudos to my bab Iycanroc for inspiration when it comes to the tree and misc. stuff. uvo 

Anyway, this here does not follow my earlier redesigns (the official ones for WR and previous purebreds etc.) since this is based off my new genetics challenge; genetifying them from the top down. I began with the first ancestor and worked myself downwards, generation by generation - you get the gist. Pretty fun, I would recommend it really. (if you're crazy like I am)

I was gonna add more generations but this is all I got for now, but I'll make some more tomorrow I hope, cross my fingers~

The litters are listed in the order of firstborn to last, as I imagine them to be, btw. 

Nutmeg: her official description is brown tabby-and-white, but she has always been cinnamon in my mind so that is what she is. She's also a heterozygous ticked tabby, aka she's got one abyssinian ticked gene, that makes her extremities striped. I have always had a soft spot for this she-cat, Idk why. 

Jake: Bc I loooove to break those "father identical to son" stereotypes of Warriors, that is exactly what I did here. Jake you see, is a red (sex-linked red) ticked tabby, which is NOT like his son here hehehehe. As a note for the character, sorry I got no opinion of Jake he isn't interesting to me in the least, and I never read TR. 

Quince: Solid blue like her canon description, there's nothing new on the lady here~ Again, a character I've got no proper opinion of. (Only I'm really confused as to why her household has a picture of Jake, that seemed so -- out of place? Were they owned by the same people or what??)

Firestar: Mentioned him before, but we'll do some quickie again. Ruddy (black) ticked tabby, meaning he's NOT red, no matter how much he looks it (blame the polygenes - I know I do xD) and I don't think he's lost any of his looks for it. 

Luna: My first thought was that it's suuuuch an overused name, I'd change it, seriously. Into something more spunky. No offense to anyone who's named Luna, or have pets with the name, just... I want something more original. Or something EVEN more classic if that makes any sense. Her canon coat had me rolling my eyes was her stupid white tailtip a nod to Alderheart or something wtf?? What is WITH these people and trying to have far-off relatives have the same quirks as the main characters?? So she's turned into a proper het. ticked tabby calico instead, hah!

Filou (Frisky): Now there I did go and change the name, mostly because I have no idea how to even prounounce "Filou" and honestly I didn't like that name either. So sorry~ Anyway, I also changed his coat around a bit, turning him into a cinnamon het. ticked tabby without white, bc I didn't like how otherwise Firestar was the only non-white kitten in his litter. 

Tommy: I kinda like this one. Idk why. Just do. Now if I'm just allowed to change his name to TomTom I might even come to love him. xD Again, a black het. ticked tabby-and-white. 

Princess: Tried to make her resemble mommy dearest the most, fufu. She's a fawn-cream tortie with het. ticked tabby (it doesn't show much, I didn't do too well when I picked her colours u3u) 

Sock: We were joking how Socks, without his white mittens, didn't fit the name anymore. So I suggested removing the 's' and turning him into Sock (let's just say his owners were weird like that) and so he's just a casual, solid black shorthair become. Whoopie.

Ruby: A blue-cream tortoiseshell. Nuthing more to say, only that you might be able to spy her underlying ticked tabby in the cream coat (just a reminder that they do in fact have a ticked tabby father)

Scourge: I admit I resized him on purpose. The itch was there and I couldn't fight it. xD He's exactly as he was when I last redesigned him though, so no changes there~

Oliver: I was pleasantly surprised to see he had been picked as Princess beau, finally something genetically sound yay. Made him an odd-eyed just for the sake of having one, since he's an epistatic white the statistics work in its favour huehue. 

Cloudtail: Bab is exactly as he always has been, thanks to his daddy~ <3

Nami: Seriously, what's with these names?? I don't like any of them omg. But anyway, she's genetically sound too, thank heavens.

Livy: When I saw her and Zack, I was THIS close to screaming "fuck you erins!!" because it was just TYPICAL that after TEN YEARS of more or less ignoring colourpoint, OF COURSE they have to go and chuck it into a random, open slot! However, I calmed myself, and decided I'd keep the point pattern, as it makes it a gene for Cloudtail to carry too, and from there I can see a multitude of uses. Anyway, Livy - don't like her name either. And she's a seal (siamese) colourpoint btw. 

Zack: Once again, don't like the name. His description is cute (though the wikia image failed hard) and I let him be a fluffbag too, as a blue siamese colourpoint~

Taylor: Again, don't like the name. Doesn't sound fitting for a cat is it just me or is it cuz I'm non-English?? Even so, he's a blue mackerel tabby-and-white, so he too, as the rest of his siblings, stay true to his canon looks. Cheers. (Also I imagine this kitty to be really skinny for some reason??)

Sandstorm: Here's our lilac tabby gal for you~ I'm not entirely comfortable with her, the hues are up for debate, and I might still change her tabby, but for now this is how she looks. And it is seriously growing on me omg. 

Leafpool: Lol, still no white spotting tee-hee. And still not like her canon self oupsie~ She's a black het. ticked tabby, referenced from a kitty my bab sent me, and I kinda like it. 

Squirrelflight: I'll admit right off, her ruddy-ish coat is highly theoretical, and I'm still not sure about it. I love the Somali-like look for her, but referencing het. ticked tabbies yielded next to none with a high degree of the rufousing known in Aby breeds. My -hope- is that they can be inherited as polygenes (which is suggested) making it more likely for her to appear rather ruddy-like, thanks to her high-degree-of-rufousing-father. But I would have to ask an Aby breeder or something to be sure I guess, Idk. We'll see what happens, she may change if I get around to changing Sandy as well~

Brightheart: Not much of a change, she's lost her white colourings, her fur is light amber, and I decided to go with classic tabby to like, have some diversity. I don't think I ever made an amber classic tabby before. ;w; 

Whitewing: Exactly as always, nothing changed here, except she's dominant white~ 

Amberpelt: I really dislike her canon name. Final. But besides a name change, she too remains as she always were. 

Dewnose: Design based on Iycanroc's take on him. Also for those who wonder, yes those eyes are orange, not amber. Since the Erins SUDDENLY discovered the colour of orange for cats, I thought it fitting to weave it in a bit more cuz duuuuh.

Snowstorm: Again, who was stupid enough to suggest that 'Snowbush' was a nice-sounding name?? Anyway, he stays the same as always, fluffy and dominant white, with a pair of amber eyes to match yiss. 

Crow(ass)feather: Whoopie, here's mr. Emo for ya. I promised before that he'd get a makeover; it might not show all that clearly, but he's now solid black (instead of dark, near-black grey there's NO SUCH THING) oh, and his eyes are hazel. Lol. No more blue, or amber, or green, or whatever, we go for middle ground instead. xD

Lionblaze: Everything considered, it's amusing how the trio 'finally' works genetically, no? Ahem, considering he's now lost his ginger, I felt it was only right that Lion got some ticking, since that's... most lion-like, all his alternatives considered. So, heterozygous ticked tabby it is.

Hollyleaf: Exactly like her canon self. No change. Nadda. 

Jayfeather: Emo number two, who is... again, exactly like his canon self. Minus one thing; GONE are the unrealistic "milky blue eyes" like eehmm, do you see any white fur on him?? No? I didn't think so. Sooo... milky blind hazel instead lol. 

SHREWPELT: WELCOME BACK BABY. Ahem... sorry but I am so much fonder of this fella than I'll ever be the dark tabby, sadly. Anyway, a solid chocolate with amber eyes, he stays as he was in canon too~ 

Flamepaw (OC): Since this tree doesn't care for VoS, I inserted our fanbabies instead, weee~ Flame here is similar to his ma, excepting his amber eyes. 

Plumepaw (OC): She got one heck of a makeover compared to her previous tortoiseshell, hehe. Without ginger at my disposal here either, I had to be inventive - and blue tickeds are rather pretty, no? I allowed her more rufousing than most aby mixes to get that delightful cream undercoat. qwq

Lilyheart: Black mackerel tabby-and-white, cuz I don't care what the Erins are doing diluting half the crew all of a sudden she was always a black tabby in my mind, so there~

Leafpaw: Black mackerel tabby with a little white~ I was not impressed at the addition of a new Leaf-character, especially with Leafpool still up and running. They could at least kill her off first, right? Anyway I'm inclined to let this kitty drop off as an apprentice, just to... reintroduce some random early deaths cuz you know... ferals tend to die BEFORE they get to the age of one. 

Larkswoop: Only black lark I've seen pictures of exist in Kazakhstan and stuff so, ehm... why the name? With all the white spotting in his fam tho I thought it a shame Lark didn't get any, so I remedied that, and made him cuter by extension~

Honeyflower: Amber classic tabby-and-white, and a van pattern too, yiss! When was the last time we saw a van cat, right?? Palebird?? Also her canon green eyes were boring so I made them orange-blue instead for some diversity, and there's a severe LACK of odd-eyes around, considering all the white kitties. u3u

Ashfur: Don't bother complaining, I won't hear it - I like this theory, and I WORK it. And he's basically the same as when I last drew him; blue spotted tabby with hazel rather than blue eyes.

Dovewing: Solid blue, and lookie those eyes are yellow again, yay. Other than that, no changes made here. 

Ivypool: Holy heck aren't you hot?? New and improved Ivy, now a blue tabby colourpoint instead, thanks to Cloudtail's new point genes, yay. With white toes - can it get any better? xD

Tigerheart: Same as always, only in shorthaired form, so that like, he ain't a solid copy of Tigerstar, canon or no lol. 

Bumblestripe: Black silver mackerel tabby. Now here's how he WOULD look like, if people actually interpret his description correctly, hehe. Nothing else has changed. 

Greypaw (OC): He ain't changed much since his fanfic days, only gone from a solid blue to a blue silver smoke, thanks to dada's silvering gene. ^^

Wrenpaw (OC): Black mackerel tabby, of a softer hue than her father, and lo and behold, this is my "generational dark tabby" candidate lol, a GIRL for a change. ;D

Cinderheart: Look who kept her purebred coat?? Blue classic tabby, and with her genetically corrected green eyes to boot. 

Rainsong: Our version of the lionxcinder kids~ And since yellow aka ginger means a cat needs a ginger mother, and Cinderheart... isn't ginger. So it was blue tabby instead, and I like him quite a lot, together with his name he becomes rather fetching~

Hollytuft: Back to your canon looks it was, no remedies needed here. 

Emberstripe: Holy... this was a PAIN. u3u I can't explain this coat to ya genetically, but she's a sort of mutation, perhaps the result of some weird interaction between ticking + tabby + agouti Idk. I thought since she has ticking in her family it might work, and she now looks nice enough that her name needn't change, cuz I am very fond of it. ;w;
